Back |
The Irish Bankers Federation (IBF) and Oracle held a seminar on the Markets in Financial Instruments Directive (MiFID) on April 6th at the Westbury Hotel, Dubin. The event was attended by over 100 financial services practitioners and confirmed this Directive as a leading concern for the industry.
With much of the detail in the Level 2 measures bedded down, attendees gained a clearer understanding of how the measures would impact their organisation and the steps that could be taken to ensure a smooth implementation. Questions concentrated on the option for an eligible counterparty or professional client to request treatment as a retail client and attendees also expressed keen interest on the possible interaction of the proposed Consumer Protection Code with the MiFID legislation. |
