It is the time of year again when fund managers sharpen their pencils in preparation for rating Irish Stockbroking firms and analysts in the Finance Stockbroking survey. The survey, now in its fourteenth year will be published in October.
The report will reflect the ferment that is taking place in the Irish stockbroking market. There are many issues confronting stockbroking at present. Amongst them how the internet is changing broking, the globalisation and increasingly pan-European nature of the equity market, and worries over the sustainablity of the private client market given recent volatility in the technology stocks, and, domestically weak prices like Eircom.
