Remuneration is up at the Financial Regulator Back  
The seven non-executive members of the board of the Finance Regulator saw their fees rise by a substantial amount in 2006, almost doubling on the figure for 2005, to reach €172,083 in total. On average, this means that each member received €24,583 for their role on the board, up from just €12,697 for 2005. The members in 2006 were: Alan Ashe, Gerard Danaher, John Dunne, Jim Farrell, Alan Gray, Deirdre Purcell and Dermot Quigley.

Patrick Neary, chief executive of the Financial Regulator, got a pay increase of 6 per cent, or €14,067 in 2006, bringing his total remuneration up to €237,262 for that year. Neary was appointed to the role of chief executive on February 1st, 2006.

Chairman of the Financial Regulator, Brian Patterson, fared better, as he was awarded €70,000 for his work during 2006, an increase of €12,697 or 22 per cent on his remuneration for 2005.
