Terence O’Rourke has been appointed as managing partner of ‘Big 4’ accountancy firm KPMG, succeeding Denis O’Connor, who is to retire in May 2007, following a serious illness. O’Connor will continue as partner with the firm thereafter.
O’Rourke joined KPMG in 1975, was elected partner in 1988, and is currently head of audit. A former president of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Ireland (ICAI), he has specialised in the financial services and semi-state sectors.
O’Connor, a former head of financial services with KPMG, was appointed managing partner in 2004, assuming the role from Jerome Kennedy, who was managing partner for nine years. |
