New CFO at BT
Graham Sutherland has joined BT Ireland as chief financial officer, where he will have responsibility for the financial and business management of the company on an all-island basis.
Sutherland was formerly managing director of NTL Ireland, and prior to that, he was finance director for Bombardier Business Jet Solutions in Texas, USA.
Hibernian looks east
Stuart Purdy has moved from India, where he was previously managing director of Aviva India, to take up the role of deputy chief executive of Hibernian in Ireland. He will initially assume responsibility for the Hibernian Life and Ark Life businesses.
New at AIB Investment Managers
Frank O’Riordan has been appointed as managing director of AIB Investment Managers, (AIBIM), replacing Dr Eileen Fitzpatrick who has taken up a senior position with the National Treasury Management Agency. O’Riordan has been head of portfolio management in AIBIM since 1999.
Also at AIBIM, Innes McKeand, chief investment officer, is leaving to return to his family in Scotland where he will join Aegon Asset Management UK. AIBIM will appoint a replacement for McKeand in the near future.
New hedge funds role at BOI
Following Bank of Ireland’s acquisition of US alternative asset managers, Iridian, Guggenheim Advisors and Paul Capital Top Tier Investments, the bank has created a new role, ‘CEO of alternative investments’, in the capital markets division, which will be taken up by the current head of group human resources, Michael Grealy.
In his new role Grealy will have responsibility for the Group’s interests the aforementioned asset managers, and he will also be responsible for investment product distribution through the global sales and client service platform. |
