New CFO at Bord Gais
Michael O’Sullivan has been appointed chief financial officer (CFO) of Bord Gais. O’Sullivan was previously CFO of Fexco, the Kerry headquartered financial services group. He is a fellow of the Chartered Association of Certified Accountants and holds an MBA from Manchester Business School.

Dempsey moves to Bloxham
Patrick Dempsey has joined Bloxham Stockbrokers as head of institutional equities and as a partner of the firm. He formerly worked as deputy head of institutional equities at Davy Stockbrokers, where he worked for 14 years, and where he was a regular fixture in FINANCE’s Annual Stockbroking Survey.

New head at BOI Corporate
Katrina Strecker has been appointed head of institutional banking at Bank of Ireland Corporate Banking, following the retirement of Finbarr O’Neill. Strecker joined the bank in 1974 and has held a number of positions in corporate banking including director - investment grade lending and head of portfolio management, institutional banking. Her responsibilities will include international corporate lending, structured credit, agency & transaction support and customer relationship management.

Also at BOI Kevin Twomey has been appointed to the position of head of markets at Bank of Ireland Global Markets. Twpmey joined the bank in 2001 and has held various positions within Global Markets including head of structured business and head of credit markets.

Marshall joins National Irish Bank
Kieran Marshall has joined National Irish Bank as head of business acquisition, from AIB Corporate Banking, where he held the same title. Marshall will be responsible for developing the bank’s asset finance and invoice discounting business across the retail, SME and corporate sectors around the country

Regulatory approval for new marketing director at Hibernian
Hibernian Investment Managers (HIM) has received formal approval from the Financial Regulator for the appointment of Kevin O’Kelly to the position of marketing & client services director of Hibernian Investment Managers (HIM). He has also been appointed as a director of Morley Funds Management (Ireland) Limited.

O’Kelly has been with HIM since 1999, and his new responsibilities will include all aspects of HIM’s client relationships, and ensuring delivery of HIM’s plans for the development of its product and service offering to new and existing clients.

Deloitte appoints director of regulation & compliance
Donncha Connolly has joined Deloitte as director of regulation & compliance, a role in which he will be responsible for assisting Deloitte's financial services clients in understanding and managing their regulatory risks and in achieving compliance.

Connolly joins Deloitte from the Financial Regulator, where he worked for nine years, graduating to the position of deputy head of the Securities and Exchanges Supervision Department in August 2003. During his time there, he was involved in the implementation and negotiations of the Prospectus and Market Abuse Directives, and he was also involved in the negotiations on the Transparency and MIFID Directives due to be implemented in 2007.
