John Ferguson
General Manager - Finance, permanent tsb
Current responsibilities: Financial and compliance management of permanent tsb, development of the bank’s subsidiary businesses in the UK (CHL Homeloans) and the Isle of Man, and enhancing the bank’s risk management capability to meet the challenge of Basel II.

Career progress: Joined Irish Life as a trainee accountant in 1973, qualified in 1977 and held a variety of financial positions in the life and pensions business. Appointed director of finance & administration of Irish Life Investment Managers in 1991, and combined this role with that of chairman of Irish Estates and Parkrite from 1993 to 1999 and 2003 respectively. Moved to permanent tsb in 2001 after the merger of Irish Permanent and TSB.
Special projects: Together with the senior management of Irish Estates transforming that business from an in-house supplier of services to an independent commercially focused organisation with a diverse and profitable customer base.
Being part of the management team, which combined the best of Irish Permanent and TSB, to create the dynamic business that permanent tsb is today.
Personal: Date of birth: 24/02/1956; Married to Susan with one son, Jack
Interests: Family, travel and for light relief Dundalk FC and most sports except horse racing!
John McGrane
Head of Business & Commerical Banking, Ulster Bank
Current responsibilities: Leadership of Ulster Bank’s business banking services to the SME sector throughout Ireland.

Education: Third level: UCD, B.Comm, 1985; Second level:St. Joseph’s Christian Brothers, Drogheda.
Other qualifications: Fellow of the Institute of Bankers in Ireland.
Career progress: With Ulster Bank Group since 1974. Career spans numerous roles in sales, service, credit and general management.
Special projects: Rolled out Ulster Bank’s network of Business Centres throughout Ireland and has developed Ulster Bank’s service model for the business banking sector.
Personal: Date of birth: 24th May 1957; Place of birth: Drogheda, Co. Louth; Family: Married to Irene with three children – Valerie (18), Mary (16), Jack (14).
Social & sporting memberships: Director, Dublin Choral Foundation; Member, Glen of the Downs Golf Club & Mount Juliet Golf Club.
Interests: Family, business, music and golf.
