Current responsibilities: The treasury team in Ireland is focused on the delivery of risk management solutions to our corporate and institutional client base across a range of financial products, including foreign exchange, interest rates, commodities and investments. Career progress: I started my career in retail banking in Bank of Ireland, moving onto their treasury and international banking division in 1989. I spent eight years trading bonds and bond / interest rate futures for the bank’s own account, before moving on to work for their financial engineering team in 1997. In late 1998, I was appointed head of corporate treasury with responsibility for all treasury business transacted with corporate clients on the bank. I joined ABN AMRO Dublin in 2001 as head of treasury for Ireland, and joined Barclays in 2004 in my current role.
Special projects: I led a significant change management initiative in Bank of Ireland, an area that I have a particular interest in.
