Career progress:
I started my career in 1988 as a trainee actuary with New Ireland Assurance. For the next twelve years, I worked in various areas of the company – valuations, financial reporting and investment in the earlier years, and in the latter years I was responsible for marketing & product development. In 2000, I joined Life Strategies and, thankfully, I continue to enjoy the challenge of working in consultancy! In addition to working on a wide variety of actuarial and strategic consulting assignments, I am currently the appointed actuary to several life assurance companies operating on a cross border basis from Ireland.
Education: Third level: n/a; Second level: Charleville C.B.S.
Other qualifications: Qualified actuary.
Professional memberships: Fellow of the Society of Actuaries in Ireland (FSAI), Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries (FIA).
Personal: Date of birth: 10/12/1970; Place of birth: Zambia; Family: Married to Marguerite with two boys – James, aged three and a half and Cathal, aged one and a half.
Interests: Soccer, following rugby, playing the guitar and spending time with family… but not necessarily in that order!
