Record first month on NYMEX Back
Trading in Brent crude oil futures contracts on the New York Mercantile Exchange (NYMEX) in Dublin exceeded all previous records in its first month of business in November.
95,435 contracts were traded in the first month, topping the previous annual record of 49,565 contracts when the futures contract was originally introduced in 2001, in an excellent first month for the Exchange.

In other news, NYMEX has just announced that floor brokers who trade Brent crude oil futures will now be able to take the opposite side of a customer order if they have advance permission in writing from the customer and have already announced the order to the ring at least twice without anyone else taking the opposite side of the trade.
