Cardinal to launch active value fund |

Cardinal Asset Management, the Dublin and London alternative asset investment firm, is to launch and develop an active value hedge fund capability. |
The firm’s approach is a private equity capability with concentrated stake-holding, and the fund will have the flexibility to trade in public and private companies, both as a minority or majority equity holder and will be focused on a deep-value/pre-event investment approach. The fund will also have the mandate to take public investment targets private if so required in order to deliver significant value to investors.
The firm has appointed Andrew Switajewski, formerly a partner with Soros Private Equity Partners, to spearhead this launch. Also, Cardinal has appointed two former FIM Limited employees, Paul Bolton and Chris Peel to lead the development of its global fund of hedge fund business.
Cardinal is the exclusive provider of hedge fund product to ISIS Asset Management, and was founded by Nick Corcoran, formerly of Zurich Capital Markets, and Nigel McDermott, a founder director of IIU. It is based in London & Dublin and is strongly capitalised and financed to build a significant alternative asset management institution. Cardinal manages alternative investment products based on hedge funds, private-equity and fund of hedge funds. |
