New chairman for IVCA |

Shay Garvey, a co-founder and partner of Delta Partners, has been elected chairman of the Irish Venture Capital Association (IVCA). |
He replaces Michael Murphy, chief executive, NCB Ventures, who has completed his term of office. Des Fahey of the Dublin Business Innovation Centre (DBIC) has been elected vice chairman.
The IVCA is the representative body of the venture capital industry in the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland. Since 1997, IVCA members have invested over €600 million in over 500 companies. The new chairman Shay Garvey is a co-founder and partner in Irish venture capital firm, Delta Partners. Prior to that he was an entrepreneur and founded a number of VC backed food companies in Ireland. Before that he worked with McKinsey in Paris and with the European Commission in Brussels. He holds an MBA from Harvard Business School and science and engineering degrees from University of New Brunswick (Canada) and University College Dublin. |
