Who's Who profile: BGE's treasurer whose deals approached €1 billion in value last year Back  
Paul Kenny is group treasurer for Bord Gais Eireann (BGE), and managed a substantial refinancing of BGE last year, which saw the company avail of a €500 milion syndicated loan, and issue $426 million in the US private placement market.

Professional memberships: Associate Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Ireland Associate Member of the Association of Corporate Treasurers

Career progress: Trained as a Chartered Accountant with Ernst & Young in Cork from 1994 to 1998. Joined Bord Gais Eireann in 1998 and worked in a number of roles within the organisation, Treasury, business and financial planning, negotiation of transportation tariffs, and provided the financial support to many of BGE's commercial negotiations over the past few years. Currently Group Treasurer, responsible for arranging all financing, cash and liquidity management, currency and interest rate risk management

Special projects: Substantial refinancing of BGE in last year; €500m, 5 year Syndicated Loan, €46m, 18 year limited recourse project financing, $426m (equivalent), 7 - 12 year US Private Placement
