Current Responsibilities: Responsible for all the activities of F&C Ireland with a primary aim to expand the business in Ireland.

Education: Third level: Batchelor of Commerce, UCD, 1987. Masters of Business Studies, (Finance) UCD, 1988. Second level: Holy Child, Killiney.
Career Progress: Having graduated with a Masters in Business Studies (Finance) Ruth spent a year lecturing in financial management in UCD. Ruth then joined Hibernian Investment Managers where she was responsible for managing cash and fixed interest portfolios. In 1991 Ruth moved to Friends First to manage their fixed interest portfolios and treasury operations while also becoming a member of the Strategy Committee. In April 2000 Ruth was appointed Managing Director of Friends First Asset Management (FFAM) and in 2001 managed the integration of FFAM into F&C Management, a leading autonomous pan-European asset management company with €89 billion under management.
Professional memberships: Ruth was recently appointed Chairman of the Irish Association of Investment Managers.
Personal: Date of Birth: 8th February 1966. Place of Birth: Dublin, Ireland. Family: Husband Peter Maher, children Rachel (6), Sarah (4), Peter (2).
Interests: Walking, swimming, sailing and skiing. Enjoying the kids growing up.
