Current responsibilities: Head of Private Banking: Investec’s private banking activities in Ireland include: banking (deposits and capital guaranteed products), lending (property lending, investment gearing, structured lending and development finance), investments (property syndicates/ funds, private equity, hedge funds) and treasury services (foreign exchange and interest rate products).

Career progress: 1985-1988: Civil engineer with John Paul Construction. Joined Gandon Securities in 1988 as a trainee dealer. Appointed a director of Gandon in 1991 and joint head of corporate treasury. Post take-over by Woodchester Credit Lyonnais in 1995 became head of the new enlarged corporate treasury and director of Gandon Capital Markets Plc. Investec acquisition of Gandon completed in April 2000 from GE Capital Woodchester and assumed responsibility for private banking in August 2001.
