Irish deals up for UK award Back  
 
Two Irish corporates have been nominated for ‘Deal of the Year’ in the UK treasury publication The Treasurer, which is published by the Association of Corporate Treasurers.

Both of the corporates have been entered in the ‘High-Yield Bonds’ category, with eircom’s €1.085 billion bond and Ardagh Glass’ €175 million bond battling it out with bonds issued by Focus Wickes, Heidelberg Cement, Remy Cointreau and Eco-Bat Technologies. eircom’s bond is by far the largest entry in this category.

This is the fifth year The Treasurer have held these awards, which recognise the most interesting deals completed between October 1 2002 and September 30 2003.

The other categories featured in the award are: Best Equity linked bond, which includes KFW’s €5 billion exchangeable bond which was converted into Deutsche telecom shares; Best loan, which includes Marks & Spencer’s ?1.25 billion revolving credit facility and Best securitisation, which includes the Priory’s ?207.5 million whole business securitisation, which was listed on the Irish Stock Exchange.
