The survey relates to corporate finance events which change in some way the management and control of a business or two businesses together.
It excludes from its scope pure capital raising events which would not have an implication for corporate control, e.g. IPOs, rights issues, development stage capital raising. We will return to a survey of private equity and venture capital investment in a later edition of Finance.
The opinions expressed in the survey were gathered among the firms who were active corporate finance advisors in Ireland.
Legal or principally tax advisors were not canvassed for opinion in this particular survey, although they of course play a critical role in M&A deals.
There were eleven respondents to the 2001 survey, all of whom are named on page 6.
The survey is designed to represent a snap shot of market opinion following the first quarter of the year and to give an outlook for the coming 12 months. |
