Gateway to deliver real time credit approval Back
Computer hardware company Gateway is partnering with financial services companies to create an internet web-hub.

At the company’s first international press day in Dublin the company said it was developing a virtual financing network which would link Gateway electronically with chosen financial partners both in the business and consumer markets. According to Gateway, the hub will offer real-time credit approval for Gateway customers.

Gateway said that it had formed a partnership alliance with Irish Permanent for business and consumer finance in Ireland. In a move to attract a stronger business-client base the company is also developing a ‘Moneyware’ system that is designed to help small businesses gain control of their finances through a combination of on-line training products and applications.

Other finance partners include first-e bank, Fidelity Investments, Handelsbanken and Standard and Chartered. In the US Gateway have recently announced an expanded relationship with Fidelity Investments who is the chief sponsor of the ‘Moneyware’ programme.

Gateway said it is looking to recruit a business financial specialist who will have responsibility for introducing and developing a range of business finance products across Europe. All of the business products will be launched through the web-hub system to allow for fast processing the company said.

Gateway is also planning to launch a joint venture credit card in Ireland next month with MBNA International Bank. The card will be protected against internet fraud.
