Current responsibilities: Managing director of the Dublin captive management unit of the Marsh & McLennan Group, the world’s leading firm in delivering risk and insurance services and solutions to clients.

Education: Third level: University College Dublin B. Comm 1975; Second level: Blackrock College (1970-1975)
Other qualifications: Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Ireland
Career progress: Qualified as a chartered accountant with Deloitte & Touche in Dublin 1982, and then worked overseas with them in Bahrain and Dubai from 1983 to 1989, largely on audit and consultancy assignments.
Returned to Dublin and became first employee in 1990 of the newly established Marsh & McLennan captive management unit in the IFSC. Our services comprise the establishment and management of insurance, reinsurance and finance companies for multi-national groups and we currently have a client base of 80+ companies.
Appointed managing director within the global firm in 2001.
Special projects / positions: Current chairman of DIMA, the industry association which represents the interests of the international insurance and reinsurance industry in Dublin.
Personal: Date of birth: 7 November 1957; Place of birth: Dublin; Family: Married to Jill; three children - Caoimhe (13); Eoin (11) and Hugh (8)
Interests: Most non-work time revolves around football in some shape or form - primarily coaching (schoolboy teams) and supporting (Spurs and Ireland). At one stage this list including playing!
