Irish accounting firm BDO Simpson Xavier has launched a business division that will target companies effected by tighter US regulations on auditors.
The new business unit, the SEC Business Support Services Team, is designed to assist US listed companies and their Irish and European subsidiaries who have been effected by the ‘Independence Rules’ announced by the Securities and Exchange Commission. The service will also apply to Irish public companies listed in the US.
Under new rules from the Securities and Exchange Commission in the US auditors are no longer able to offer certain services to audit clients. BDO aims to provide these services where previous providers are no longer permitted to do so. The services that the BDO unit will offer to its clients include accounting support, appraisal or valuation services and fairness options, along with VAT planning and payroll management. |
