| Accountancy graduates set for career lift-off |

The expansion and diversification of the accountancy market will bring a wide range of new career opportunities to the next generation of CIMA and ACCA graduates according to Executive Connections director, Karin Lanigan.
‘In this uncertain market it can be very comforting to possess such a broad based qualification as the professional accountancy examinations,’ she said.
‘Traditional accountancy roles have diversified and developed and graduates can now look forward to excellent career and training opportunities with companies investing in employees and concentrating on strengthening their careers with cross functional training,’ she added.
Lanigan noted that while CIMA graduates had traditionally worked in manufacturing this culture was changing, with CIMA accountants now playing a significant role in finance teams across a broad cross section of industries including financial services.
She also sees the ACCA qualification as an ideal platform from which to launch a management career with ACCAs found on the board of directors of many leading companies across a broad range of industry sectors. |
