Conference to assess changing structure of regulator Back
Over 250 people are expected to attend the Fourth Annual Finance Dublin Conference, which will take place in the Burlington Hotel in Dublin on March 25th and 26th 2003.

A key theme of the conference will be the role of the new single regulator; the Irish Financial Services Regulatory Authority (IFSRA), and Dr. Liam O’Reilly, chief executive of IFSRA will give a keynote speech on IFSRA, and how it will aim to maintain Ireland’s pro-business environment. His speech will be followed by a panel discussion of eminent speakers in the field on the implementation of the new regulator including O’Reilly, Sir Nigel Wicks, Member of the EU (Lamfalussy) Committee of ‘Wise Men’ on European Securities Regulation, & deputy chairman of Euroclear, Willie Slattery, chief executive of Deutsche International and Michael Ryan, chief executive of Merrill Lynch Capital Markets Bank.

Other keynote speakers include Jeffrey Owens of the OECD, who was described by Time Magazine as one of ‘Europe’s most influential business decision makers’. He will address the international corporation tax regime and the future of financial services and the IFSC.

For the first time this year, eight individual sector streams, covering areas such as hedge funds, securitisation, aviation finance, corporate treasury, funds and insurance will be available for delegates to choose from.
