Mary O’Dea, currently head of the regulatory enforcement and development department at the Central Bank of Ireland, has been appointed as consumer director for the new single regulator, the Irish Financial Services Regulatory Authority.
O’Dea will take a seat on the board of IFSRA, reporting directly to the authority’s chief executive Dr. Liam O’Reilly, and once the regulator is up and running some time this year, O’Dea will have responsibility for monitoring the provision of financial services to consumers and developing a system of consumer protection. |
