New appointments: Hayes takes over at BOI Back  
Tom Hayes has been appointed as chief executive of Bank of Ireland’s corporate banking division. Other notable new appointments include Brendan O’Hora as new retail marketing head at Ulster Bank and Andrew Glover, group treasury manager at Dublin Airport Authority plc, has been appointed president of the Irish Association of Corporate Treasurers (IACT)

Tom Hayes has been appointed as chief executive of Bank of Ireland’s corporate banking division, following Richie Boucher’s move to chief executive, retail financial services Ireland.

Hayes most recently held the position of head of specialised finance, where he had responsibility for a portfolio of niche skill based international businesses including leveraged Aacquisition finance and Burdale Financial Limited, the UK asset based lending business acquired in January 2005.

Hayes joined the bank in 1979, following a degree in Banking and Finance from University College Dublin. He held a number of positions in retail banking, and joined corporate banking in 1989, and was appointed as head of leveraged acquisition finance in 2000 where he led the transformation of the business into one of the key players in the European and US markets.

New retail marketing head at Ulster Bank
Brendan O’Hora has joined Ulster Bank to take up the position of head of retail marketing for the Republic of Ireland. In his new role, O’Hora will have responsibility for product marketing in the bank’s retail division including mortgages, savings and investment, personal current accounts and credit cards. O’Hora was previously head of marketing with First Active, a position he held since 2001. Prior to that appointment he held a number of senior positions in retail banking. A graduate of the College of Marketing, he completed an MBA at the Michael Smurfit Graduate Business School, UCD in 1999.

New head for treasurer’s association
Andrew Glover, group treasury manager at Dublin Airport Authority plc, has been appointed president of the Irish Association of Corporate Treasurers (IACT). Glover takes over the role from Patrick King, group financial accountant, Jurys Doyle Hotel Group Plc.

Glover joined Dublin Airport Authority plc in October 1998 as management accountant for Dublin airport and was appointed group treasury manager in 2001. In this role he has been involved in raising significant debt finance in both the public and private markets. Andrew holds a B.Sc. (Mgmt) from Trinity College, Dublin and is a member of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants.
