‘Quality of equity research’ remains the most important factor fund managers look for when choosing a stockbroker. This is the fourth year in a row that equity research has been voted as the key decision factor in choosing a broker.
Also the same as last year’s survey is the placing of ‘Execution/Ability to Deal in Size’, which has again come in second position, ahead of ‘Day-to-day Sales Service’, which moves up one from last year.
‘Objectivity of Equity Research’ falls back to fourth position from third last year, as the furore surrounding research at international brokerage firms dies down.
‘Back Office Service/Settlement’ is becoming increasingly important for fund managers, and in this year’s survey it moves up two places on the table to fifth place. |
