Following the departure from Goodbody last year of Colin Hunt, Davy’s Robbie Kelleher has been awarded the title of ‘Best Research Economist’ for the first time. Runner-up for the past number of years, Kelleher has taken the title in his own right this year, in a year in which he was also awarded ‘Best Equity Strategist’.
This category was long-dominated by Kelleher’s former colleague at Davy, Jim O’Leary, who won the award 11 times. Since his departure from stockbroking in 2001, Goodbody’s Colin Hunt has had a firm grip on the survey, but Hunt followed in O’Leary’s shoes last year by pursuing a career outside of stockbroking.
Hunt’s replacement at Goodbody, Dermot O’Leary, put in a strong performance in this year’s survey, his first outing. He came in second place, behind Kelleher, and ahead of Merrion’s Adrian O’Carroll and NCB’s Dermot O’Brien. |
