In what must be the tightest category in this year’s stockbroking survey, Merrion’s Robert Brisbourne has won the ‘Analyst of the Year’ award by a whisper, just beating off Goodbody’s Robert Eason.
Brisbourne has put in a remarkable performance in this year’s survey, having also been awarded ‘Best Food & Beverages/Agribusiness Analyst’ beating long-time winner of that award John O’Reilly of Davy.
Brisbourne also won the ‘Research Report of the Year’ award for his report on the food and drinks industry, ‘C&C Magners Survey’.
Eason last won the award in 2003, but fell back to tenth place in last year’s survey, when Merrion’s Seamus Murphy took the title.
Eason also won the ‘Best Construction & Building Materials Analyst’ in this year’s survey, and polled well in the ‘Research Report of the Year’ category for his report, ‘CRH: Still to play its trump card’.
NCB’s John Sheehan, who won this title in 2002, also put in another strong performance in this category, and was voted into third place, up from his fourth place last year.
New in the top ten this year are Eamonn Hughes of Goodbody, and Barry Dixon, Stephen Furlong, John O’Reilly and Joe Burnell, all of Davy.
Just making the top twelve are Paul Meade and Shane Matthews, both of NCB. |
