Davy maintains pole position in firm ratings back
Davy Stockbrokers has retained its dominance in the overall firm ratings in this year’s survey, taking six titles out of a newly expanded eleven categories. However, it has lost one of the survey’s biggest awards, ‘Best Irish Equity Research Overall’, to Goodbody Stockbrokers, who last won this title in 2003. Elsewhere, NCB Stockbrokers won two categories, while Merrion also performs well with one win.
Davy dominates the firm ratings in this year’s survey, winning six titles in total but has relinquished its hold on the ‘Best Irish Equity Research Overall’ award, which it has won a total of 14 times, to Goodbody, in this year’s survey.

Davy has maintained its grip on a number of other key areas including ‘Best Sales Service’, ‘Best Sales Trading Service/Execution/Ability to Deal in Size’ and ‘Best Back Office/Settlement Service’.
Goodbody also scored in a new category introduced this year, ‘Best Overall Construction & Building Materials Research Service’.

Holding onto the title of ‘Best International Equity Research (excluding Irish equities)’ is NCB, who also won this award when it was first introduced in 2004. Merrion jumps up from fourth place last year to take second place in this category.

A number of other new categories were included in this year’s survey, including ‘Best Technical Analysis’, which was won by NCB, and ‘Best Economic Research’, which was awarded to Davy.
As was the case in last year’s survey, Merrion has again been awarded ‘Best for Objectivity of Equity Research’.

Newcomer Collins Stewart has put in a strong performance, coming in second place in the ‘Best Technical Analysis’ category, and in fifth in the ‘Best for Objectivity of Equity Research’.
